The children in Balgaddy have been exploring different mediums to paint on and express themselves. This is the true benefit of open-ended creative processes. Children can freely express themselves and their creativeness is not limited to ‘how it should look’ or a predefined outcome. The process allows them to manipulate the paint, making marks that represent their own ideas and engagement. Through this process children can see how different colours are formed (science), how marks can be made( pre literacy), the end result(creative representation and communication) and also all the sensory factors that art incorporates into our day; sensory exploration, calm, movement and flow.
