Open ended qus

At StartBright we always try and ask children open ended questions throughout their day. Not only does it promote positive language development and open the lines for communication, it offers the child opportunity to think about their own ideas and own learning.

We follow our questions with time. Time so the children can hear the question and formulate their response. This, can take time for children and so we allow for that silent thinking.

Asking open ended questions empowers children, there are no right or wrong answers to open ended questions so they can become more confident in asserting their opinions and ideas, leading conversation and seeing that their voice is truely respected and listened to.

Why not try some open ended questions at home to hear about the ideas happening when your child is playing!
