The children have been investigating and exploring by adding in some vegetables into their playdough. The room has been working on independence and encouraging the children to take on more responsibility. What a perfect opportunity to extend learning from something that they are so comfortable with(playdough) to introducing child safe knives to cut cucumber, mushrooms and carrots. By not underestimating the capabilities of the children, they rose to the challenge and accomplished it completely, those who were more confident sharing with those who needed some more time.
