The after schoolers in StartBright Balgaddy have been busy creating houses with their mega blocks. Creating dens and houses is a great hands-on approach to STEAM(science, technology, engineering, art, maths)  skills. The children naturally develop their artistic, mathematical and engineering skills through critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and communication. These 4Cs are part of the Essential 21st Century Skills that the have been deemed as highly important for future success in later life. Developing these skills in a play based curriculum allows children the freedom to express themselves and build on these skills authentically, making them feel natural and just part of who they are.
